Hampshire Community Broadband (HCB) is a local initiative created by the community, for the community.

Established in 2018, HCB was founded to address the significant lack of commercial broadband infrastructure in the rural areas of Northeast Hampshire. In a world where high-speed internet is essential for business, education, and personal connection, HCB is bridging the digital divide for our local community.

Our network, which operates without relying on national commercial providers, has been built in partnership with Broadband Delivery UK and is regulated by OFCOM.

We operate where commercial suppliers do not, enabling many businesses to operate and customers to work from home. HCB has increased the value and saleability of many of our connected customers.

Connecting the community

Serving an area of circa 45 square kilometres northwest of Basingstoke, HCB’s high-speed full fibre network has already connected over 500 properties.

HCB owns the physical infrastructure and contracts with highly skilled professionals to deliver world-class broadband bandwidth, maintenance, and technical support. By working with local engineers whenever possible, we keep things local, supporting both the community and the local economy.

Our optic fibres connect your property without sharing or diluting contention whilst many suppliers are still using a mixture of fibre and copper which can have a degrading impact during busy times.

All our operations are managed within the area of our community. The people who visit you will live less than a few miles from your home or business. Some may even be neighbours.
