Hampshire Community Broadband milestones
2017 to 2026
Hampshire Community Broadband was initially set up in 2017 to deliver full fibre connectivity to around 190 local businesses and homes.
In 2026 we will have connected over 500 homes and businesses.
The current network comprises:
- 145km of buried fibres
- 130 separate land ownerships crossed by the fibre
- 18 villages/hamlets connected in rural Hampshire.
Our initial, most popular service provided a download speed of 100Mbps, now the most popular service is either 200Mbps or 500Mbps, speeds delivered symmetrically for both upload and download.
The more internet services that are being used across our customers, the greater the speed needed. Demand has more than doubled in the past few years.
